The ZENITH DEFY collection has been a symbol of uncompromising strength, precision, and technical perfection since its inception in 1969. Nicknamed the "vault of time" due to its robust construction and resistance to challenging conditions, DEFY has become a benchmark of reliability in the world of Swiss watchmaking. The legendary DEFY Diver A3648 model, also known as Plongeur, was a professional diving tool with water resistance up to 600 meters.
In 2024, the ZENITH brand continued this tradition by introducing a pair of exceptional models – DEFY Extreme Diver and DEFY Revival Diver, now also available in the Shadow version made of micro-blasted titanium. These new interpretations combine vintage inspiration with modern technical design and are created for modern adventurers who are not afraid to dive into the depths.
ZENITH DEFY EXTREME DIVER – PERFORMANCE FOR THE MOST DEMANDING
The DEFY Extreme Diver model is a direct successor to the diving watches from 1969. The titanium case with a diameter of 42.5 mm and a matte sandblasted finish highlights the architectural lines and emphasizes the technical strength of the design. The unidirectional bezel made of black ceramic, filled with Super-LumiNova, ensures perfect readability even in complete darkness.
The watch is designed for saturation diving and offers water resistance of 600 meters, a helium escape valve, and a screw-down crown with protection. The black dial with a star motif is complemented by yellow accents and indices with C1 Super-LumiNova.
Through the transparent case back, one can admire the automatic El Primero 3620 movement, beating at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour and with a power reserve of 60 hours. The silicon anti-magnetic escapement ensures high precision and durability.
The package includes a titanium bracelet and two interchangeable straps: a black rubber strap with Cordura texture and a black-yellow textile strap with a pin buckle. The quick-change system allows easy style adaptation without the use of tools.
ZENITH DEFY REVIVAL DIVER – RETURN OF A LEGEND FROM 1969
The DEFY Revival Diver model is a modern reinterpretation of the historical DEFY A3648 from 1969. The micro-blasted titanium case with a diameter of 37 mm retains the original fourteen-sided shape with a round rotating bezel and a yellow sapphire ring.
Like its predecessor, it offers water resistance of 600 meters and a crown positioned at 4:30 for better ergonomics. The matte black dial with white luminescent hands and striking yellow elements ensures readability even in the depths of the ocean.
Inside ticks the automatic Elite 670 movement with a frequency of 4 Hz and a power reserve of 50 hours. Despite its compact size, the watch offers a transparent case back, beneath which rotates a skeletonized rotor in the shape of the ZENITH star. The Gay Frères style titanium bracelet ensures lightness, comfort, and aesthetic continuity with the brand's historical design.
