OMEGA Extends the Speedmaster 38 mm Collection: Seven New Models Inspired by the Legendary Moonwatch

Swiss watchmaker OMEGA expands its Speedmaster 38 mm collection with seven new references. Building on the unmistakable DNA of the Speedmaster, the updated collection introduces a series of refined design changes that bring it even closer to the iconic aesthetic codes of the legendary OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch.

The new models combine the sporting character of a chronograph with a compact 38 mm case and sophisticated finishing. The result is a collection that preserves the unmistakable identity of the Speedmaster while offering a more refined and contemporary interpretation of this celebrated watch.

Speedmaster 38 mm Moves Even Closer to the Iconic Moonwatch

One of the most notable changes to the new OMEGA Speedmaster 38 mm collection is the redesign of the subdials. The previous oval subdials have been replaced by rounded versions, sharpening the sporty character of the watches and bringing their appearance closer to the classic Moonwatch design.

OMEGA has also reduced the amount of wording on the dial. This creates a cleaner and more balanced appearance, allowing the chronograph design itself to take centre stage.

Another important update can be found on the bezels. They return to a thicker style and feature the characteristic Dot-Over-Ninety detail, with the dot positioned above the number 90 on the tachymeter scale. This historic design element has long been associated with the Speedmaster and, in particular, with the iconic Moonwatch.

Each of the seven new references is also presented on a five-link bracelet inspired by the contemporary Moonwatch style. Depending on the model, the central links are either polished or brushed.

Two Automatic Co-Axial Calibres

At the heart of the new collection are two self-winding OMEGA Co-Axial movements.

The six references equipped with a date function are powered by the Co-Axial Calibre 3330, while the seventh model with a black dial and no date is fitted with the Co-Axial Calibre 3332.

Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, notes that the Speedmaster 38 mm has always drawn inspiration from the Moonwatch while maintaining its own focus on compact proportions, colour and simplicity. With this latest evolution, that connection has been strengthened even further, while preserving the refined and distinctive character for which the 38 mm collection is known.

Seven New Expressions of the OMEGA Speedmaster 38 mm

The new collection offers a broad range of styles, from the classic combination of stainless steel and a black dial to bright white and silvery versions, bicolour models featuring 18K gold and luxurious diamond-set editions.

Stainless Steel Speedmaster 38 mm with Black Dial

This model is the closest in character to the traditional aesthetic of the OMEGA Moonwatch.

It features a black aluminium bezel and a black varnished dial with a matt finish. The hands and hour indexes are filled with white Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent legibility in low-light conditions.

Inside is the Co-Axial Calibre 3332. The stainless-steel bracelet combines three rows of brushed links with two rows of smaller polished links.

It is perhaps the purest interpretation of the classic Speedmaster aesthetic within the new compact 38 mm collection.

Stainless Steel Speedmaster 38 mm with White Dial

The second stainless-steel version introduces a more pronounced colour contrast.

Its blue ceramic bezel features a tachymeter scale in white enamel. The lacquered white dial is contrasted by hands and indexes with a blue CVD coating.

OMEGA has used the same blue tone for the numerals in the date window, creating a particularly harmonious overall design.

The combination of white and blue gives the watch a fresh and elegant character while preserving its sporting origins.

Stainless Steel Speedmaster 38 mm with Silvery Dial

Another new reference combines a warm grey aluminium bezel with an opaline silvery PVD dial.

The Sedna™ Gold PVD hands and baton-style hour indexes are enhanced with white Super-LumiNova. The subdials feature a combination of brown and Sedna™ Gold PVD hands.

The result is a warmer and more elegant interpretation of the Speedmaster 38 mm, bringing together the sporting construction of a chronograph with softer and more sophisticated tones.

Bicolour: Stainless Steel Meets 18K Gold

Two new references take the Speedmaster 38 mm further into the world of luxury watchmaking through combinations of stainless steel and OMEGA's distinctive proprietary gold alloys.

Speedmaster 38 mm with Moonshine™ Gold

The first bicolour model features a stainless-steel case complemented by a polished bezel in 18K Moonshine™ Gold.

A green aluminium bezel ring features a yellow-gold tachymeter scale. The silvery opaline PVD dial is completed by Moonshine™ Gold PVD hands and baton-style indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova.

The luxurious character continues onto the bracelet, where the smaller links are crafted in 18K Moonshine™ Gold.

The combination of green, silver and gold creates a distinctive yet balanced interpretation of the classic chronograph.

Speedmaster 38 mm with Ivory Dial and Sedna™ Gold

The second bicolour model develops the signature “cappuccino” aesthetic already associated with the Speedmaster 38 mm collection.

Its ivory-coloured main dial contrasts with brown PVD-coated subdials.

The stainless-steel case is topped by a polished 18K Sedna™ Gold bezel and a brown aluminium bezel ring. The smaller links of the bracelet are also crafted in 18K Sedna™ Gold.

These warm tones create an elegant alternative to the classic black and steel Speedmaster models while highlighting the versatile character of the 38 mm collection.

OMEGA Speedmaster 38 mm with Diamond-Set Bezels

The two most luxurious additions to the collection demonstrate how naturally the sporting DNA of the Speedmaster can be combined with refined jewellery-inspired details.

Both models feature a bezel set with 52 diamonds totalling 1.53 carats.

The first version features an ice-blue PVD-coated dial.

The second offers a white mother-of-pearl dial, whose natural reflections further enhance the jewellery-like character of the watch.

Both models feature rhodium-plated hands and baton-shaped hour indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova.

These diamond-set editions represent the most striking union of Speedmaster's sporting heritage and the elegant aesthetics of contemporary luxury watchmaking.

The Speedmaster in a More Compact and Elegant Form
